THRIVE Project is an independent, science, and advocacy-based organisation. We aim to pursue information related to the natural and social sciences in order to identify the necessary changes needed to achieve a sustainable society. We are arming individuals with the knowledge and understanding to make changes in the pursuit of prosperity for all. To this end, harnessing the latest in machine learning, holochain, and cloud computing, we have developed technologies, tools and educational programmes. Eight years in the making, we stand as a respected international movement in the field of thrivability, with no other organisation approaching sustainability as universally, holistically, and transparently as we do.

To deliver providence and prosperity to the world. We aim to clearly show the most effective path to a sustainable planet. We want to integrate thrivability within the very fabric of society.

To live in a world where all life-forms co-exist in harmony and solidarity with each other. A world where we can all pursue global shared value, creation, and prosperity.

About Thrivability Matters Webinar Series

The United Nations has set targets towards building a sustainable society and environment. To this end it has relaunched the former Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) program as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Each Sustainable Development Goal is interconnected with each other, such that achieving one equals success in the others. These ambitious goals invite us all, as an international society, to build a more sustainable, safer, and more prosperous planet for all humanity. Aligned to this, THRIVE Project contributes by enhancing the understanding of each point stated in the goals through our monthly event the THRIVE Tribe Webinar.

The THRIVE Tribe Webinar is a monthly online gathering, whereby invited experts expose science-based sustainability learnings, through sharing their experience and knowledge. The event is conducted every third week of the month, see below for our upcoming themes:

  • October 2021: SDG 1 & 2 - No Poverty & Zero Hunger // Innovative policies
  • November 2021: SDG 7 - Energy // Science & Technologies
  • December 2021: SDG 16 & 17 - Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions; and Partnership for Goals// Through policies towards sustainability
  • January 2022: SDG 4 & 8 - Quality Education; and Decent Work & Economic Growth // Discoveries

The Thrivability Matters Webinar Series is a platform to share the obstacles we currently face and discuss what the international society can do to manage these issues. We aim to build a reliable, supportive, and informative environment. We encourage all participants to use the hashtag #THRIVEformation, to share knowledge and experiences from the Thrivability Matters Webinar Series to our 20.000 followers in over 90 countries on social media.

Each session of the Thrivability Matter Webinar Series lasts for 90 minutes. This webinar has up to two speakers with 30 minutes allocated for presentation and followed by 10 minutes of presentation.

Upcoming Speaker

Dr. Mariam Awlia

Mariam was born and raised in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where she was sponsored to pursue a BSc in Biochemistry at University College London, an MSc in Bioscience and a PhD in Plant Science at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). Currently she works as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Plant Science at the University of Cape Town (UCT) studying resurrection plants, which can survive extreme desiccation and still recover fully upon rehydration within 24 hours. However, no study has comprehensively examined the combined effect of drought and salinity on resurrection plants to create climate-smart agricultural systems. She has also been volunteering with Reach for a Dream in Cape Town for the past nine months, where she absolutely enjoyed engaging with the children and their families in making their dream day come true. She also enjoys bridging the gap between the scientific community and the public, which is why she heavily engages in science communication and public speaking to share her story of personal development, while encouraging people to embrace science, positive psychology and spirituality. She is also passionately supportive of environmental sustainability, social prosperity and mindful living.
