Daniel is a Senior Policy Adviser for the Australian Government currently working with the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) on developing future-focused policy and the next long-term strategy for Australia’s $152 Billion Visitor Economy. Prior to this Daniel has held strategic tourism policy roles with the Queensland Government and worked as a consultant for EarthCheck, the world’s leading scientific benchmarking, certification and advisory group for travel and tourism. His career has seen him lead several major projects involving destination development, disaster preparedness (including COVID-19 economic recovery strategy), business case development and investment attraction. Daniel is a passionate advocate for regenerative tourism initiatives and believes that the sector has the opportunity to create value and support local communities economically while educating visitors on the importance of sustainability and helping to preserving our iconic natural environments.
